Dali and his anteater

Cultural tidbit, proving a picture's worth a million words:
In 1070, Dali even brought this anteater on a talk show.

mile high scandal

so probably the most ridiculous tidbit that occurred while we were on blog sabbatical was the controversial quitting of JetBlue flight attendant Steven Slater (total spy name). while this may be old news to most, anybody who quits over a PA system, and then activates an emergency inflatable slide for his grand exit deserves a nod from us here at reallysmalldogs, so here's the video from abcnews: (note the serious news source):

The dog that can read

This woman taught her dog to read. Most people don't realize, but all dogs can read. DUH

petite pig and hippo?

Pigs as pets isn't unheard of, but it still seems weird to bring a barnyard animal into your living room. Especially as a carnivore (this obviously is Maggie), the irony is just too twisted. Why the teacup pig?

in other ironic news: mini hippo?

Hexaprotodon liberiensis, cousin of the regular big guys.

Kanye's tweet and New Yorker comic. Does he understand that the New Yorker is making fun of him daily? Does he care? NAHHHH

The new Jersey Shore--> K-Town-- Asian version

Alot of Jersey Shore spinoff ideas have floated around, but this one is actually making it to the air: K-Town. The Asian only cast appear to be true characters based on this leaked promo video, but can they make a dent in the Snooki viewership? Will the Italian faithful watch? I dunno, this looks a little too Real World- esque...

Truth or Rumor? Shaq coming to Beantown...

Rumors are flying everywhere this morning...

Crossing Beacon St. by Ruggles Chuch.... Segway brigade. Strange and extremely amusing.

A blast from the past? Is the failed trend making a comeback?

New Yorker Cartoons + Kanye Tweets

The clever Josh Cagan of the New Yorker has begun a series of cartoons
inspired by the bizarre, brash, and sometimes plain stupid tweets of
Kanye West.

A Brighter Note: BarLola

We like Bar Lola alot. You probably pay for the chic basement vibe, but on occasion, it's worth it. The waiters are extremely friendly and the tapas are quite good. The highlight of this place, by far though, is the sangria. White and red are both excellent, although red is better. It's a young crowd and everyone is just looking to have a good time.

Phoenix Landing, Cambridge yucktastistic

Recently went to this dive in Cambridge for a drum and bass night. The music was earsplitting and barely music. I think a 12 year old on GarageBand could make better music. (To really understand, youtube drum and bass.)

The Phoenix Landing is down the street from The Middle East in Central Square.

Music (loud random noises) aside, The Phoenix Landing was a bizarre crew. A awkward mix of hippie/ "alternative" types were tripping out and made the place a general hazard zone. Drinks were not expensive and the bartenders were quick, but it was hardly a scene conducive to a good time.

My advice, stick to the Middle East. Angst-y Berklee bands and amateur DJ's are definitely a better time.
